Paused.
My username is basically the same everywhere. Its usually written as "paus_d_", but why do I use it? Does it mean anything?
I really like listening to music. I also do a lot of photography.
"Pause" is just my way of saying “freeze time”. I just like to pause, freeze time with my camera and share it with others.
The underscores are just for fun. Sometimes I shorten it to PSD for things that need something short (also the file extension for Adobe Photoshop files). For some reason I think its cool when letters are missing from words. I like playing with spelling in usernames and projects as it helps me come up with unique short names, or domains.
One example is my company Loop'd. It was a lot easier to get a short URL like "loopd.cc" than to pay thousands of dollars for something like "looped.cc". It makes things more fun and unique.
Part of the inspiration came from @landonbtw, who added an extra letter to his company name, "studiio".
He talked about how he wanted to the the domain "studio.com" but it was so expensive and ridiculous he just decided to add an extra I. That extra I even looked like a pause icon, which became his studios brand mark and ended up inspiring my own logo and the name "Paused".
All of these things played into the name and the logo of my personal brand, but at the core, I wanted to create something unique. Something intentionally different.
